Hampshire based Greenhouse Graphics has invested in an Agfa Anapurna H1650i LED flatbed printer in a bid to increase quality and boost productivity. The printer was purchased through inkjet specialists Josero who, according to Greenhouse managing director Ian Crossley, demonstrated an exceptional understanding of large format machines and digital cutters and were able to advise the company accordingly.
Based in Basingstoke, Greenhouse Graphics is an award winning graphic communications company specialising in graphic design, commercial printing, web design services, marketing support and signage and display systems.
The company was established in1993 and has become widely recognised as a leading centre for sustainable graphic communications in the UK. It was also the first UK print centre to install PV Solar panels in 2005, and has since developed its own unique carbon calculator giving customers carbon information on print production jobs at the estimating stage.
With customers ranging from community magazines to large multi national PLC organisations, the company has identified the growth areas of its business to be in the large format and creative design departments, and in a bid to increase production capacity the firm chose to invest in an Agfa Anapurna H1650i LED which would allow a speedier turnaround on a range of projects.
“Our new investment allows us much faster printing of posters, banners, wall coverings, boxes, boards, etc and enables the business to not only take on extra work but also deliver a more efficient service to our customers,” says managing director Ian Crossley.
According to Mr Crossley the installation ran very smoothly and the machine has been in full production as expected following a three day installation and training process. It now sits alongside numerous other production equipment including: a Komori Lithrone 429 H-UV B2 printing press; a Screen 250lpi 4300E Hazardous Waste Free CTP system; a Zund S3 M-1600 digital cutting and routing table; a range of Morgana numbering, folding, perforating and creasing machines; and a Ricoh C910 CMYK digital cut sheet production printer.
Loic Delor, managing director of Josero says: “Ian has a great deal of experience in wide format printing sector and carried out extensive research and testing before coming down in favour of the Agfa H1650i LED to replace his ageing Screen Truepress flatbed UV printer. The Agfa is a huge leap forward in production speed without compromising on quality as they needed the upgrade to deliver big volume jobs in a constantly tightening delivery schedule.”
