Aylesbury based Pelican Print has invested in an HP Indigo 5900 digital press to enable production on a wider range of materials. The new press will sit alongside an eight year old Indigo 5000 model.
“We chose to invest in HP Indigo technology again principally because our customers are used to the excellent quality of work we produce,” says Pelican Print managing director, Scott Brookes, “We have many customers who don’t just buy on price. They buy on the quality, reliability and service we provide as well as the usual quick turnaround the industry currently demands.”
Like all HP Indigo presses, the unique digital offset process combined with HP Indigo’s liquid ElectroInk technology results in digital prints that are of the highest quality.
Pelican Print also elected to trial HP’s EPM (Enhanced Productivity Mode) software before purchase, for a further productivity boost. “Following our tests with the EPM software we are confident we can use the facility on a high percentage of our work without any noticeable compromise on image quality. It means we can use the press to maximum capacity, deliver on quality and secure healthy profit margins on work produced on the press,” explains Brookes.
The HP Indigo 5900 provides exceptional productivity for medium-volume printers, and delivers increased quality and reliability, printing at 90 colour pages per minute for more than two million colour pages per month.
