The first orders for the newly launched NS Multi-LG by digital printer manufacturer New Solution Engineering, have just started to ship. The ground-breaking flatbed digital corrugated printer prints directly on to uncoated or coated media for the customisation of corrugated card and board, pre-cut folding boxes and craft cartons.

The printer gives customers the ability to compete on short run print jobs and enables the option for variable data, customisation and personalisation, something that has been out of reach with traditional packaging print technology. It will also appeal to manufacturers who need short runs of print packaging materials on demand, delivering efficiency thanks to lower stock holding and faster turnaround.

NS Multi-LG printers will be distributed by Perfect Colours in the UK & Ireland, and according to sales director Jon Telling, the NS Multi is an important addition to the company’s printer portfolio. “The NS Multi represents an affordable but high quality solution that allows customers to compete on short run digital packaging, thanks to the flexibility and low running costs of the machine. Speed is also a great asset and allows fast throughput of a wide of range of materials. The one pass technology employed is not only quick but gives excellent high quality prints, direct to substrate. This printer represents an important innovation in its ability for nonstop printing and accurate and easy to set up registration.”

Ideal for direct printing onto boxes and board aimed at a wide variety of markets including warehousing, shipping, food, beverage, storage, gifts and more, the NS Multi LG allows print service providers to offer short run custom packaging as well as being affordable enough for product manufacturers and logistics facilities to adopt the technology themselves and print in-house.

“Manufacturers involved in the packaging segment, in addition to companies that are seeking innovation in their printed packaging, as well as print service providers wishing to enter the market or offer extra print services to their existing customer base will want to see and test this exciting new printer,” says Telling. “Our demonstration printer will be installed at the Perfect Colours Innovation Centre in Sheffield shortly and we will offer demonstrations on the NS Multi LG from July onwards and we very much look forward to delivering our first set of demonstrations then.”

The five colour (CMYKK) NS Multi LG features a 47" (1200mm) media width, a 42'' (1066mm) print area, print speeds of up to 300mm per second and a resolution of up to 1600 x 1600 dpi. A single pass print head colour inkjet printer incorporating Memjet technology, the NS Multi LG enables exceptionally fast print speeds at very high quality and very low cost.
